| VF Compatibility Mac Intel Core |
We’re very excited about being to announce that Virtual Fashion is compatible
with the new Mac Intel Core. While we don’t officially support this platform we have
various customers that have successfully installed and run Virtual Fashion with
no problems thanks to the ATI drivers that come included on Apple’s Bootcamp.
Here’s what you need to use Virtual Fashion on your Mac:
- Mac OS X Tiger v10.4.6 or later (check Software Update).
- The latest Firmware updates (check Support Page).
- 10GB free hard disk space.
- An Intel-based Mac.
- A blank recordable CD.
- A printer for the instructions.
- A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP,
a Service Pack 2, Home or Professional (No multi-disc,
upgrade
or Media Center versions).
Download the demo now and test out Virtual Fashion on your system.
For complete details on Bootcamp please visit Apple’s official website: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
NOTE: This will not work with any Mac computer that does not have the Intel Core.
How to use VF Pro with a Mac Poser version?
1. Running VF Pro on an Intel Based Macintosh computer using a Boot Camp Partition.
The Boot Camp partition of Windows VF Pro needs to be formatted as FAT 32. This way Mac OS X can access the Windows partition directly and has full read / write access to it. VF Pro is installed on the Windows side and no modifications are needed. After installation the Virtual Fashion Runtime directory can be added to Macintosh version of Poser the same way as it is done on its Windows counterpart. The following screenshot will show how Mac OS X sees the Windows partition. The directory structure is identical to its Windows counterpart.
2. Running VF Pro and Mac Poser on two separate computers.
Mac OS X can natively mount a drive or folder shared by a Windows machine where VF Pro is installed. Working in this way the user first needs to share the hard drive or folder where VF Pro is installed. The Windows machine that is sharing the drive / folder is seen in the Network view in finder (in this example the computers name is Overtune). This view can also display the name of the workgroup where the windows machine resides.
After selecting the computer a list of available shares on that computer is listed. When the connection to Windows share has been made a familiar file structure is again seen and this can be assigned to Mac version of Poser.
